Although a fairly basic campsite it holds its own. Nice toilet and washing up block. Showers are battery heated but surprisingly good. Add the that it's river frontage. Lovely.
Don't go during peak times!!! It was festival camping with tents touching each other. Absolutely slammed full with WAY to many pitches rented out. Portaloo type showers, with no space to change and only 2 washing up sinks. The river was pretty but you couldn't see it as there was a wall of tents in the way. Just too full for me.
Very pleasant campsite. Friendly staff.Always clean and tidy with staff maintaining it. On site staff.Great for canoe. Can buy logs for firepit on site.Pleased that no dogs are allowed, ( as not all dog owners are responsible for their dogs behaviour and mess!) So a definite thumbs up for me and my family.Good local footpath walks.
A simple campsite in a wonderful spot. Been going, on and off for nearly 50 years. My heart always melts when you turn off the road to the track and see the down the valley to the river. I like the new rules, no dogs and being quiet after 11pm. Be nice to the wardens when they come and tell you to quieten it down. For them, it is more than a job and beer doesn't make you more intelligent.Must say the new showers and real toilets make a big difference. Try the canoeing, I didn't get to the pub but will hopefully next year.
Fantastic couple of days camping, canoeing & fishing. Didn't catch much but it didn't matter as it was so nice to be in these beautiful surroundings (constable country). Very well maintained campsite, great facilities, very reasonable prices & helpful, friendly staff. The best camping we've ever had in Britain, we will definitely be visiting again!!
