St Leonard's church was established in in the 12th Century in the port of Colchester. Present core structure dates from the 14th Century though most is later. This was closed as a church in 1985 and is maintained by the Church Conservation Trust. The church was open to view though it may be best to check times.
Beautiful building. The old door has four holes cut into it by Royalist soldiers to fire muskets out of during the 1648 Siege of Colchester, during the Civil War
