I took two pairs of boots to be reheeled, One pair of which the replacement s fell off, the owner tried to charge me again to fix his mistake, He also told me he could stitch a patch to a bag. It was only stitched in part, the rest was glued. He told me that he said to me that was how it was going to be done. He didn't and it fell off.I've also heard of other issues.He takes all the money before he does the work and will only take cash.He clearly says one thing and then does his own thing.When questioned, he hides behind his language skills and speaks to the customers, as if they are idiots. I will never use him again and advise others not to.
My first review.Have used their services for the last 4 years and can only say what a pleasant group of people that run it. The quality of service is absolutely superb especially pressing. I've used their alteration service and shoe repairs and i'm really impressed.
Went for a jacket alteration, satisfied with the rates and service but couldn't get the jacket on time, had to wait for 30 minutes. Overall good customer services.
DO NOT GO HERE.I paid 40 to get a sofa cover washed, only to find out that Island Dry Cleaners charges 18.95 for the same service (Island wasnt open when I went to get this done, or I would have gone there).When I took the cover in, the man told me in a pushy voice that I would need to bring the rest of the cushion covers for them to clean, since they would be ruined if I washed them at home. Not true. The cushion covers say machine washable. I have washed them at home and they are fine. He didnt ask me any questions or check anything he was saying. He was just trying to generate business for himself by spouting rubbish.Two hours later I decided to go back and ask for a refund because I didnt like the way they spoke to me and I thought I might have been ripped off (which I later found out I had). When I got there, they said I couldnt have the cover back because it had already been put in the wash. I asked them why I had to wait four days to collect the cover if it was already in the wash. They tried to convince me that I had chosen Thursday as a day that was most convenient for me, and that it would actually be done by tomorrow and I could collect it then. Not true. They gave me specific days to choose from (Thursday or Friday). Thursday wasnt even that convenient. I think they made this up on the spot to avoid giving my money back. Whether the cover was in the wash or not, I do not trust the sudden incongruity with what we had previously agreed. I do not appreciate being lied to at the time of purchase, and I do not appreciate paying more than double the usual price. The place itself is grubby on the inside. Their selling and customer service style is pushy.I am convinced, reading the other reviews, that the majority of their 5 star reviews were generated by their friends, since their reviews are practically 50/50 split between 5 star and 1 star.
Very competitive price and splendid customer service. Clothes were returned on time and was wrapped neatly. Highly recommended.
