Large library. No bathroom but we can use the M&S one not far away. Could be nice to have some magazines too. People working there are helpful.
I've been going here for donkeys years and today was the first time I was made to feel uncomfortable when I asked to use the toilet..I'm a disabled lady and I also suffer with anxiety which makes the matter worse.. I have never used my own key as it's never been an issue..plus I'm using the library facilities so why the issue..I came away feeling bad..Mary you need to be more understanding
It has everything you'd expect in a library, and they have some good sessions on for children: story telling etc. But the building is showing its age a bit. Could do with an update really. I guess we're luck it's not been closed though!
Baby and Toddler rhymetime is a really good session
Fantastic library! It's a bright and welcoming space, with a nice cafe upstairs and a very nice quiet study area. The staff are kind and friendly; I needed a difficult-to-find book and they quickly located a copy and had it sent to the library so I didn't have to travel to pick it up. Their collection of popular fiction, classic lit and nonfiction is impressive. If I can't find something at the uni library, it's usually at the Colchester library. All in all, it's a great asset to the community, and I feel very lucky to have it!
