Great for bits for cars and bikes
Purchased a bike from here about 4 and a half months ago and was told I would be emailed after 3 months about the check up that is included with the bike purchase. Long story short, I was not emailed and after 3 unanswered phone calls and 2 visits into the shop where on both occasions I gave up waiting to be served after 20-25 minutes I am still yet to book or receive my 3 month check up. Standing in the shop waiting for what felt like days while one shop assistant tries to sell a couple of bikes to an older couple all the while the queue was getting longer and longer was enough to make me wish I had purchased my bike elsewhere. Rubbish service.
Absolutely aweful! Three times came to the bike service department and waiting minimal time of 50mins to an hour and ten minutes. It's fine to wait your turn but staff didn't seem to be bothered or there was no sense of urgency (having little personal conversations and a long chinwag). Very frustrating and inconvenient time wasted! Matthew and Chanel however once being served are very helpful.
As a disclaimer, this review is about the customer service i received and not Halfords as a brand. They stock some impressive lines of bikes at great prices.I entered the store to find out if a particular bike scheme was in use there. When we got in there was one member of staff serving a couple, and another customer was waiting by the tills. We listened to the woman prattle on about a bike she clearly knew nothing about for about ten minutes, then finally finalize the sale, which easily took another 10 minutes.After this she left, and we stood listening to a ringing phone for 5 or so minutes before another male staff member came through from the back with the other customers bike. We then got to watch him do his safety checks for another 5 or so minutes before the female staff member returned again. At this point the customer and their bike have left, i assume i will have my query answered soon...No. That is not what happened. Instead what happened was we listened to the two staff members argue like petty children about "i did that". After what felt like an eternity, for the first time in the entire time in the store were we acknowledged. It took 30 minutes to get a gofd damn answer from these two, absolutely enraging.
We are on a big cycle tour and had to get a broken spoke fixed. It was Sunday afternoon and we were not too hopeful to get it done soon, but then we phoned here and were told they could fix it! And the super nice bike mechanic did a great repair job in less than twenty minutes! Thank you for the great service!
