Historical military open space with mature trees, one of many green lungs of Colchester and peaceful and safe.
A lovely green space in the midst of Colchester. A great community space used by runners, dog walkers, cyclists and boot campers alike. Love the fact that no matter when you visit there's always someone else around, which is ideal as a solo female runner. The circuit of Abbey Fields is a decent distance and has a few ups and downs.
Great place to socialise. Not only for pets but people too. Would be better if people picked up after themselves and their pets and kept the fields clean and tidy. We do not want our pets getting injured due to someone being disrespectful of the surrounding. It's there for everyone.
Good place to let the kids run and play small play ground at top, plenty of space. Territorial Army Camp also by the field, funfair in summer and army display.
Lovely open space just to the south of town. Has a little play park for younger kids and not much else apart from a few trees and lots of grass. Good place to fly a kite on a windy day or just to sit and watch the sun go down.
