Lovely historical place to visit. They have lots of events on running through the summer months, as well as the Castle to visit, it is surrounded by beautiful gardens and land to walk, picnic or just relax and chill with friends. There is a cafe on site too.
Take some nuts if you like squirrels. Its a good city centre park, well maintained with lots of trees. We wandered round before deciding against paying the high castle museum entry prices.
Have and will always love this place. It's beautiful and full of memories. And now my babies play there and love it equally
Only visited the park. Beautiful autumn colours. Plenty of space with a children's play area. Also has a beautiful old fashioned band stand. Memorial still there from remembrance day. Thought provoking.
This is an excellent place to visit with kids. There are 3 playgrounds next to each other, every one is a bit different. A large sand pit with digger toys and a big ship climbing frame, one for smaller children with swings and easier climbing frames and one large climbing frame with lots of different slides. There's 2 zip wires and was a large bouncy castle (age limit 4). There are few car parks around the park and the cost wasn't too bad. Also there's a coffee shop next to the playgrounds.
