If you like your pub with a board outside saying "Oliver and the team welcome you" and it has a fine selection of wines and continental beers. This is not for you, this wonderful place hasn't changed for over 20 years, excellent pint, a proper pub with a dart board, horse racing on the telly then the football results, very comfortable environment to be in, long may it last.

Great real ales pub with good selection of ales, ciders and perry. Deco need updating, but if you can see past the deco, its great little local pub. It is also on the good beer guide for Colchester. Lovely staffs and it's what you called Local pub with character.
